Various food technologies were presented at the CES 2022. Some were essential for domestic purposes, while others were for a luxurious purpose. The food technology industry is innovating products in response to the surge in interest in home cooking during the pandemic.
It has also lead to several home-based cooking businesses, so the food industry is currently focusing on packaging as a way to differentiate themselves from the new packaging material that serves as a part of the branding and verifies food safety. The rapid adoption of nanotechnology for food packaging on a global scale has sparked interest among businesses to engage in this sector.
The future looks bright for consumers who want to update their kitchens with appliances that use autonomous cooking technology to help them make better-tasting and healthier meals in less time with less waste.

Let’s look at some of the technologies presented at CES 2022.
Home Bartender in Bartesian Style
The Bartesian is a one-of-a-kind cocktail maker. One can enjoy immediate quality cocktails from the comfort of home by mixing capsuled flavorings with liquor. Cosmos, margaritas, whisky sours, and lengthy islands are all just a button press away. It works by simply adding the preferred alcoholic beverage.
Ideal Temperature Food Steambox
DeliBox is a food delivery mechanism that delivers food at a controlled temperature. At CES 2022, this Swedish technology made its maiden appearance in the United States. It's a temperature-controlled transportable food vessel that's lightweight and excellent for meal delivery.
In addition to the Delibox, another technology revealed at the event was steam tech based lunchbox.
If the lunch gets cold by the time one reaches the workplace, Steambox comes in helpful. This heated steam lunch box technology, can keep up to three meals warm on a single charge. It features a clean, modern style, and the food selection.
Users may use the Steambox app to look for healthy meal alternatives, track calories, and steam their food.
A Spoon that Elevates Taste
SpoonTEK employs "ion sensory technology," a first for eating utensils, and mixes electric stimulation with tongue sensory feedback. It stimulates the tastebud on the tongue and alters taste by generating a modest electric current.
The spoon is held normally, with the finger resting on the electrode on the handle. The electrode in the spoon bowl makes contact with the food.
The SpoonTEK system is activated when an LED light on the handle glows, indicating that it is providing a moderate electric current through the food being consumed. It goes unnoticed, but the taste receptors react to it, and the flavor is instantly boosted.
It adds flavors to wet dishes like yogurt and sauces without adding excessive sodium or sugar and gets rid of the aftertaste. After enjoying one dish, the taste buds will be ready to savor the next flavor. This improves the tasting experience of an individual.
Mushroom Tech
It is a mushroom fermentation technology that uses the unique qualities of mushrooms to make foods healthier, more accessible, and affordable.
Harnesses the metabolic engine of mushrooms, known as mycelium, to generate novel ingredients that address the food industry's most pressing issues through natural fermentation.
Hospitality Robots
Bear Robotics is a company that creates hospitality robots. Bear Robotics deployed bots to handle everything from drink and food service to busing, using AI and autonomous robot technologies.
Bear Robotics provides front-of-house labor support to renowned chefs and restaurants.
Bakery Scan to Differentiate a Bun and Donut
A bakery would sell more bread if it offered more types. The pastries shown in the open rather than in packaging sold better, possibly because they appeared fresher to the customer.
As a result of the issues, the cashiers had to memorize hundreds of pastry types without labels or barcodes, and there was a delay in the checkout operations. A chain decided to hire an AI startup to automate the checkout process.
The AI system that resulted could scan bakery items on a tray, identify each pastry, and price it accurately, speeding up the checkout process while improving hygiene. Employees can specify things or correct the AI during the initial setup and feedback mechanism in the system, ensuring that it achieves the highest levels of accuracy
Automated Pizza Vending Machine
The Picnic Pizza Station is cutting-edge when it comes to making the ideal pizza, regardless of the crew.
This fantastic pizza making robot can be used in small businesses, schools, and kitchens to eliminate product waste and put out items with minimal manpower. The Picnic Pizza Station can make 100 pizzas in one hour with just one person. Food waste is decreased by roughly 2%, and the environment is made more sanitary because there is no human intervention in making the pizza.
Smart-Food Vending Machine
This self-driving restaurant-on-wheels will eventually act as a street food vendor. It could drive on specific routes and stop when called by a phone or when a person waves at it while the machine is passing by.
Yo-Kai Express debuted as a robotic ramen vending machine and announced a 2022 expansion into other autonomous food and kitchen technologies.
Shoppable Recipes
Shoppable recipes convert inspiration into sales by guiding customers through the purchasing funnel with only a few clicks. Its main goal is to find the best recipes for clients' needs at any given time. Customers may make data-driven decisions based on the data-driven curation and recipe activation process.
LG, a consumer appliances multinational company, as part of its CES 2022 tease, announced to offer a dedicated service for finding, saving, and shopping recipes online. More crucially, the app will allow users to order all of the ingredients for the dishes with a single click.
The main ThinQ app will have access to ThinQ Recipe. Around 10,000 one-click shoppable recipes will be available through the app.
LG's Scan to Cook feature, which delivers cooking directions to your appliances for frozen meals, will also work with ThinQ Recipe.
Finally, the food industry is adopting new technologies. Some technologies are in the development phase while others have already gained momentum in their sectors. However the food technologies and their trends will continue to grow on a larger scale.
