PRECISION CARDIOLOGY

Precision cardiology, at the outset, refers to the identification, diagnosis, and utilization of genetic biomarkers for the management of cardiac patients. With a growing trend of non-invasive methods of genetic testing and an overall positive outlook toward genetic testing, non-oncology application areas are slowly becoming an area of increased focus, primarily led by infectious diseases and CVDs. This brief study aims to identify how precision cardiology, as an evolutionary method of identifying individual predisposition for CVDs, represents one of the prime opportunities under the precision medicine ecosystem.

Precision cardiology refers to the identification, diagnosis, and utilization of genetic biomarkers for the management of cardiac patients. By assessing the cardiogenomic profiles of individuals, the precision cardiology approach aspires to revolutionize patient management protocols followed across regions, attempting to significantly downsize the economic burden imposed by CVDs.
